Twitter for Tickets
If you're a Facebook or Twitter user and you have started following organisations (dance companies, agencies, etc) then you may have noticed a number of "status" updates pushing performances and box office contacts for particular shows. These updates are obviously intended to generate ticket sales but do they and can they achieve that particular goal for the companies that use them?

Video Up!
As we discussed a few weeks ago most online video sites are offering up High Definition for both their users and viewers. Although the HD video on offer should really be be labeled as "Higher Quality" or "the quality we should have been giving all along but couldn't be bothered", is there a way to take advantage of these new formats if you don't have a HD video camera or source video?

The Awards 2008
The movies have the Oscars, Broadway has the Tonys and soap opera's have a distinct lack of acting talent. In the dance world we have, well, 'The Awards". They used to have a proper name but it was rubbish and we vowed to come up with a new one is short order. Sadly that was three years ago but, you never know!

It has been said that if you stood every morning on the stairs between Studio 1 and Studio 3 at the London School of Contemporary Dance in the early 70s until the mid 90's, you could hear the shouts of, "faster, faster,.....harder, harder" from upstairs, and the calm instructions of, "slower, slower.....softer, softer", from downstairs.
