And now for something a little bit different. Compagnie T-d’U is not a dance company but a theatre company comprised of four actors and their work ‘All the things you said you never said before you thought you could ever say’ (that’s the full title) is more physical theatre than a dance show.
Adding to the creative writing and performance as director is long time dancer and performer with DV8 Physical Theatre Vivienne Wood. So there is definitely a very strong dance influence in the show.
The company is comprised of a diverse range of folk from the United States, Switzerland, Spain and Slovakia.
The company say this much about the work;
“One couple, four actors and a performance exploring different versions of how life can happen. Investigating the complexities of human expression – how it is and is not communicated from the most intimate relationship to the most superficial.
How to illuminate the physical, verbal and emotional subtext that every person carries under the words, movements and silences that they express on the outside?
This performance is about breaking open the rigid structures of daily communication – both verbal and physical – to find out what else we want to say but never knew how. Unless, of course, something outside our control stops us before we have the chance.”
